Thursday 13th May
4 offences occurred yesterday which may of may not be connected, and possibly the offenders are travelling across our area.
An attempt distraction burglary occurred in Kirtlington, where a male claimed to be a plain clothed police officer. Fortunately the resident did not let him into the property.
Two attempted burglaries took placed one in Bladon and another in Wendlebury. No entry was gained thankfully. A red family sized car was seen at the two incidents which may be connected.
And finally a burglary took placed in North Leigh, Witney. Entry was at the rear of the property, through a conservatory.
We have just been notified about another incident in West End, Launton, which may be part of this series of incidents. A bugalow has been targeted, offenders did not gain access, but tool marks have been left around window and damage to patio doors
Please alert neighbours and remain extra vigilant. If you see a red car or any other suspicous vehicles, please take vehicle registration number and direction of travel. March 2010

Suspicious males were seen loitering around the Launton Village Area on Friday 19th March at around 1540 hrs. 4 males were described as 2 in their teens, 1 in his 30's, and 1 in his 40 with curly black hair. They were travelling in a blue van.
WPC Caroline Brown from your Bicester Rural Neighbourhood Team would like to ask if anyone saw these males or has any information.

Please alert neighbours. Two distractions burglaries have taken place involving bogus police officers. One occurred in Bicester at 5.15pm yesterday in Ray Road, Kings End and another in The Fairway, Bretch Hill, Banbury at 8pm last night. In both incidents males claimed to be Police Officers and gained entry into houses.
DESCRIPTION: Three males have been described as white, 20yrs, one was tall, slim, fair hair, wearing dark clothing, another described as 5' 8", short black hair, blue jeans and average build.
VEHICLE: A black car possible a ford focus was also seen at both incidents. If you see anything suspicious or have any information please telephone the police on 08458 505 505 or 999 for immediate police attention.

Please be aware of the following which occurred on three occasions in Adderbury Village on 27th December.
Three males wearing blue overalls and stab vests, stated that they needed to get into victim's addresses quickly and check it, as a suspected burglar has been stopped with cash further down the street. Males show a stolen Police Warrant Card as ID, one victim saw that it was a female's name.
Please do not let any unexpected callers, into your home even if they appear to rush you.
Take police warrant card or the name and shoulder number from it and phone police on 08458 505 505 to check their identity as a genuine officer.

Thieves who phone you before they call to say that they work for Thames Water: in various oxfordshire homes residents have receives a phone call from a 'Thames Water employee' saying that they will be calling at the property to check something. Do not let someone into your house without checking their identity. Phone Thames Water to ask if someone is coming to your house and why. Various thefts have taken place from houses after these 'TW' calls. If you read this message and you have an elderly neighbour please make sure they know about this new scam.
