News & Actions What's it all about? Action so far Weston Front site

In response to a village meeting in April 2008 called by the Parish council (which had a turn out that filled the hall), there was a overwhelming vote of 'No to Weston Otmoor'.  Please bookmark this page and visit it regularly to find out the latest news and to see how you can help and become involved in this campaign.

Next meetings:
Weston Front: Wed 28 May, 8pm, Weston on the Green Village Hall.
Wendlebury Action Group: Fri 6 June, 7pm, Red Lion - please join us
County Coucil meeting: Tues 24 June, more details soon
Please note: the Day of Protest in Bicester on June 7th will NOT be taking this place - Watch this space for details of a possible new date

Posters have now been put up around the village
indicating objection to tearing up farmland to add traffic, congestion and fumes to the local roads.
Every house in the village has now had 2 Yellow and Black Flyers delivered. These Flyers ask all recipients to go to the Downing Street Petition and sign up or write - also to obtain a Sticker for your car and house. (No glue - just static electricity)

If you do not support the eco town then:-

Have you signed the petition yet? If not please do so: CLICK HERE Weight of opinion is very important in these matters: the more signatures on the petition the better.
We need to get to 2000 or 3000 for real notice to be taken.
On Saturday 17 may 08 there are 781 signatures which is 80 more than two weeks ago so well done to all who have signed.

Have you got your sticker yet? If not make a note in your diary for the week to get your sticker.

Please get on with the actions above as there is going to be more to do until Weston Otmoor is no longer short listed.

We encourage all who do not support the Eco town to do their bit and follow up on from the massive vote against the New Town taken in the village hall. There was not a single vote in favour of the New Town and no abstentions.
Everyone knew about the meeting and no one from the Village came to persuade the other village residents to support the scheme.
This seems to mean every Wendlebury resident is "Against" so please show that by your actions if you have not already done so.
