The Children's playground was constructed around 2003 and funded by a grant from the governments landfill tax scheme.
The playground is fenced off from the rest of the hall grounds so children are unable to run directly into the road or car parking areas.
Equipment includes slides, swings and climbing frames which are installed with deep bark chippings immediately beneath them. The main playground area is laid to grass and has benches for parents to sit.
A HUGE thank you to all volunteers who are giving up their time to ensure the playground is kept safe for the village.
The Playground at the Village Hall undergoes a safety check by ROSPA every year. In addition, once a week someone from the village maintenance rota rakes the bark beneath the equipment and undertakes a visual inspection to check for any damage.
We now have a team of voluneteers who make up this maintenance rota. Each volunteer is responsible for just one month each year, which works out at less than 3 hours per year. Any faults or issues are then reported via e-mail to Kerry Wilce.
If at any time anyone else using the playground notices anything amiss, we ask that they e-mail Kerry Wilce at kerry_wilce@kwconsulting.fsnet.co.uk and copy to Dave Jones dj@wendlebury.co.uk. Thank you.
