Wendlebury Traditional Village Fete Join the Wendlebury mailing List

Last year saw the successful return of our village fete after an absence of ten years. The organisers are now confident that the fete will continue as an annual event and once again be one of Wendlebury's summer highlights and an important part of June Fest. This year the proceeds are being shared between our parish church, Saint Giles. and the Village Hall
The fete has something for everyone from age 3 to 103. Attractions include a chariot race, the tug-of-war, fun fitness & music and a coconut shy as well as a host of competitions including fancy dress, skittles, cake making and and welly whanging. There are also side shows including a children's merry go round, an ice cream stall and plenty of other interesting stalls with things to buy and games to play. Fulllisting in the left hand panel
Admission to the fete is free so you can have a grand day out full of fun, laughter and things to do for less than the cost of travel to many other attractions and its nice to know that every penny you do spend is contributing to a good cause.
At the end of the day relax with a beer or a Pimms and listen to music from the fantastic "Strolling Bones"

For the second year this unique event takes place only at the Wendlebury fete.
Our picture shows two of last years contestants approaching the finish line.
Not quite Ben Hur, but still dangerous!
Each chariot needs a horse and a driver. Just turn up on the day and add your name to the list of competitors.
The course is down the main street with the finish line at the entrance to the village hall. "Horses" need to be fit as this is a knock out competition so the winner will complete several races. Drivers need to be light, but adults only please.
We still need donations for the raffles and white elephant stalls as well as volunteers to help man the stalls. If you would like to help then please contact:
Julian Cordy 244589 or Mike Pearce 243967 or use admin email.
