Roman Chariot Races
This unique event will be a first in Oxfordshire, maybe the whole of the UK and possibly in the world.
Our picture shows two of the experienced charioteers, possibly Ben Hur and Bodicea.
When they offered to help out at the fete we got really excited because some of us are very old and remember the chariot race from Ben Hur with the thunder of hooves and the brutal competition with people being maimed and trampled by the horses
However, in the meantime the 'elf and safety' brigade have made it impossible to have such a spectacle but undaunted our brave charioteers have come up with a novel idea to remove any danger to the public but still race their Roman Chariots
We are going to keep the details secret until the day of the fete so the only way to find out, is to be there!
